I have grown this, and I was very impressed. The only problem I had with it was that I couldn't bear to pick it because it was so stunningly gorgeous. The photo at the right doesn't really do it justice. And you need to see the sun shining through those deeply purple leaves to realize just how beautiful it is. This is the perfect plant for anyone trying to camouflage the fact that they are growing edible plants (some benighted places forbid it, I understand). It's also perfect for anyone who just wish to combine edibility with ornament.
It would be even more spectacular planted alternately with either 'Golden' or 'Green Velvet' orach. I'm going to plant it this way this season......if I can choose which one to plant with 'Triple Purple'.
I will be strong this year....and pick it young and enjoy eating it! I will.....I swear I will. Yes, I really will!
