This marigold is becoming one of my favorite perennials, given to us by our friend at Grand Prismatic Seeds, James Young, over 4 years ago. This is part of the marigold diversity of Central America, a plant of cultural meaning and uses as ritual incense, medicine, seasoning, and art. Grows from seed into a small clump the first year, becoming 18-30” tall in subsequent years. Semi-woody bush of green shining leaves from multiple unbranched stems bears a sweet fragrance of tarragon. Small yellow marigold blossoms eventually cover the plant. These may be used for dye, but the entire plant is harvested for tea and seasoning. Would also make for fragrant bouquet filler. Oregon Tilth Certified Organic Seed!
