This is one of the few perennial sage species native to woodland habitats, so it is happy with a place in the shade. Flowers in the second year from seed, with spikes of lavender-purple flowers whorled about stems standing 2' tall. Not to be confused with Jerusalem purple sage (Phlomis purpurea or turerosa), completely different plants that show up in searches. Very attractive to pollinators, and gaining attention as a new cutting flower. Oregon Tilth Certified Organic Seed!
