Linaria maroccana A native of Morocco, closely related to snapdragons, Linaria has 1” versions of that flower shape in a range of brilliant purples, reds, and violets with yellow to orange throats. Plants stand erect to 15” tall, and look best when crowded together. Linaria can be fall sown in zone 7 and warmer, or transplanted early in spring. I have allowed 3 seedlings per cell, and transplanted at 9” apart with success. Linaria is a reference to Flax (Linum), and since it isn’t really an acceptable substitute, it is flax for toads. Silly people, toads don’t need linen. What these really are would be more like snapdragons for Hobbits.
Northern Lights The brightest of all the Linaria color mixes, like pigments with all the pastel removed. The crystal colors really are reminiscent of the best aurorae. These make excellent vase flowers; they are long lasting and interesting to view closely, as on a table. pricing and more
