Purple Top As far as I can tell there are no true varieties of this species, Purple Top Verbena and Tall Verbena (or Vervain) being just common names for this South American species. Stunning and uniform none the less. These are perennial in zones 7-9, but grow to flowering so quickly that they are treated as annuals by most cut flower growers. 2-3' tall, 12" spacing and pinching is recommended.
